The enzyme is inactivated by EC 2.7.11.31 {[hydroxymethylglutaryl-CoA reductase (NADPH)] kinase} and reactivated by EC 3.1.3.47 {[hydroxymethylglutaryl-CoA reductase (NADPH)]-phosphatase}.
