Amplicon sequencing is a highly targeted method for the analysis of genetic variations in specific genomic regions. Ultra-deep sequencing of amplicons can effectively identify variants and characterize them. The general idea is to capture the target region, then conduct next-generation sequencing (NGS) to analyze the sequencing results, and obtain relevant information.
Since the 21st century, amplicon sequencing has been an indispensable method for microbiologists and microbiome researchers. Amplicon sequencing can generate an analysis of the entire community analysis of bacteria or fungi in any complex sample. Just like many metagenomics methods, amplicon sequencing offers microbiome researchers unique advantages.

Amplicon sequencing mainly contains 18S rDNA sequencing, 16S rDNA sequencing, ITS sequencing, and target region amplicon sequencing. The sequence of a certain high-variation region of 18S /16S /ITS measured by the high-throughput sequencing platform reflects the differences between species of environmental samples in the classification of bacteria, fungi, and archaea, which plays an important guiding role in the study of microbial composition in the environment such as the ocean, soil and faeces. It is also a widely used method in phylogeny and taxonomic research, especially in different metagenomics samples.
Amplicon sequencing uses primers that match the conserved regions of the marker genes, such as the fungal ITS2 or the bacterial 16S rRNA gene. `We provide sequencing of the bacterial 16S rRNA gene for variable regions 4 (V4) or variable regions 1 through 3 (V1-V3), fungal ITS2 region and custom marker genes of your choice. We combine the low-bias amplication method with an optimal closed reference alignment to offer you more accurate data than the standard method.
Besides, we also provide a full range of bioinformatics analysis services, including OUT cluster analysis, species classification, diversity analysis, species difference analysis, functional analysis, association analysis and model prediction, etc
In general, our turnaround time is 1-3 weeks depending on the size of your project.
